Multi-Purpose Beauty Products

Multi-Purpose Beauty Products
Patrice Marrero

I’m what you call a product junkie. Believe it or not, I get it from my dad. My mom has always been just fine with her Oil of Olay, but pops would try every skincare regimen and shaving cream he came across. So, I’ve basically grown up surrounded by all sorts of lotions and potions, and since becoming an official adult who can afford to pamper herself – I too have filled my bathroom, vanity and boxes in my closet with all sorts of fun beauty finds. That being said, my everyday regimen is super simple, and consists of a limited number of products. Almost all of them serve more than one function. Let me fill you in on some of my favorites that will keep your overnight bag from overflowing.

The Balm Cosmetics Stainiac ($17)gloss

This perfectly pink cheek and lip stain is a life changing product. It was for me anyway (don’t judge). To add a rosy glow to your cheeks just apply a few dabs to your apples and blend with your fingers – no brush required. Then swipe it on your lips for color that lasts all day long. And I’m not talking as an ad executive for lipstick here. I’m talking as your friend. It really lasts All. Day. Long.

Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Co Wash ($20)

Hey curly girls! Put down the shampoo, like yesterday. Your hair (and mine) is thirsty, and those harsh shampoos aren’t helping the situation. While the thought of a 2-in-1 may make you think of Pert Plus (and cringe just a tiny bit), this is nothing like that. Not only does it cut down my shower time dramatically, it leaves your hair and scalp feeling clean and moisturized. Your curls will love you for it.

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips ($14.50)lotion

I never in my life finished a lip balm. They always got lost in the deep dark crevices of my car, or ended up in the same place as all those single socks the sock monster ate. Anyways, that is not the case for the Original Nipple Balm. I’m proud to say I just finished my first tube, and already have its replacement in my possession. It has kept chapped lips at bay all winter long, plus it functions as so much more. Got split ends? A tiny bit of this wonder balm will fix that until you can get a trim. Does your nose look like Rudolph’s from all that blowing? It’ll calm that for you. The possibilities are too great to list. Check out more at Dr. Lipp.

RMS Beauty Coconut Cream ($18)

If you were stranded on Gilligan’s island and you could choose one beauty product to be dropped out of the sky, it should without a doubt be this Coconut Cream. Moisturize any part of your body with this heavenly scented ointment. It can also be used as a gentle face cleanser. Not to mention the fact that you can use it as a deodorant (you’ll probably smell since there’s no plumbing on the island). When your hair gets frizzy, just run a dab of this through it. Then, just sit back, relax and enjoy the beach.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè ($28)

Once you try this oh-so-fantastic moisturizer/primer/make-up remover you will wonder how you ever lived without it. When the top makeup artists around the world love something, you know it’s worth using. Plus, it comes in one of those metal tubes that for some unknown reason make me seriously nostalgic. I can just picture Marilyn Monroe squeezing it.

Adding these products to your routine can save you some serious time and money. You won’t have to search your makeup drawer for your disappearing blush (who has time for that?), and you don’t have to buy a new product for every little issue we gals come across. Happy primping!
