It's almost ironic that the history of Nuts.com is, well, a more than a bit nuts. "Poppy" Sol had been working full time jobs to support his family when, in 1929, he decided he'd had enough. He went into a bank, dressed in his best suit and a winning smile, and got a loan to start the Newark Nut Company. This was just on the cusp of the Great Depression, so here's the crazy thing — Poppy's business soared. He just had a knack for finding the best dried fruits and nuts in the world and knew how to roast them in ways that would bring tears to his customers' eyes. And so it is nearly 90 years later. With Poppy's great grandson at the helm, Nuts.com still has a rabid fanbase because they offer the best dried goods known to man.
