Consumers have certainly rallied around retail holidays like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Small Business Saturday. Now there's a new kid on the block: Back-to-School Saturday. Teen Vogue Magazine gathered advertisers and marketers to create the one-day event to offer shoppers sales, samples and deals at stores like Aeropostale, American Eagle and Staples. According to the New York Times, the back-to-school shopping season normally spans an 8-12 week period, peaking during the second or third week in August. So this year, organizers are hoping to gather shoppers for one big day of buying-- August 11.
Aeropostale
Shoppers can save 30% on their purchase at Aeropostale on Back-to-School Saturday. Plus they'll score a free pair of sunglasses with purchase. Keep in mind that the discount excludes markdowns, fragrances and cosmetics.
American Apparel
American Apparel is offering customers a special discount of 20% on August 11. You can take advantage of the deal both in stores and online at AmericanApparel.net.
American Eagle
Another favorite with back-to-school shoppers is American Eagle. All jeans will be on sale August 11, plus when you buy a pair of jeans you can save 50% on a top. To redeem, shoppers must use promo code 192 in-store or promo code 17144921 online.
Auntie Anne's
If all that back-to-school shopping makes you hungry stop by Auntie Anne's for a free pretzel. You must first install the free Teen Vogue Insider smartphone app, which will give you access to an exclusive coupon. Present the coupon at checkout to score your free snack on August 11.
Biore
Here's a deal that doesn't fall on August 11. Pick up a Sunday newspaper on August 12 to find a coupon for free Biore cleanser when you buy Biore pore strips. The deal won't be available to everyone, but if you do find the coupon it's good until the end of September.
Diore Addict
Head to Sephora to take advantage of this deal. With every Dior fragrance purchase you'll be rewarded with a perfume sample and a "cat eye" demonstration.
Express
Express shoppers can save half off their purchase. When you spend $30 you'll be rewarded with a $15 discount. You can either use promo code 9375 or flash the coupon from your Teen Vogue Insider app.
Gap
Gap is offering a discount for shoppers running from Thursday, August 9 to Sunday, August 12. Everyone will get 30% off any in-store or online purchase during that weekend.
Guess

Kohl's
Kohl's is also offering shoppers a 20% discount on purchases made on August 11. Plus you can use this on sale and clearance merchandise too. You'll have to present the offer on your smartphone screen from the back-to-school Saturday app in order to get the deal in-store. Or you can enter code FASHIONISTA if you're shopping online.

Staples
As part of Back-to-School Saturday, Staples continues to offer its annual Back to School Savings Pass, which costs $10 and offers 15 percent off all your school supplies for the rest of the season. Plus you can save $5 on your purchase of $25 or more when you present your Teen Vogue Insider app at checkout.

One Response to “Move Over Black Friday, It's Time for Back-to-School Saturday”
You just helped me out quite a bit. I have those nieces and nephews going back to school/college and like every year I am trying to find out what they like and what's IN this year. This helped, so I can just give them a gift certificate to a couple of the sites you mentioned. Thank you.
