Do you have a wish list for this Christmas? If you're a parent, your kids probably have wish lists running to several pages. Kids are always happy
to address wish lists to Santa, and they're not shy about asking for what they want.
Last week when I was helping out at the school library, we brought the kids to the computer room after they'd checked out their books. The first-graders are working on their keyboard skills; these kids are still finding letters on the keyboard and they haven't all mastered the use of the SHIFT key yet.
So the librarian decided that the kids could type their letters to Santa. They could have the fun of writing the letter as well as practice their typing. Everyone began by copying the standard beginning to a letter, greeting Santa and asking about his health and that of his wife.
I was wandering around the room helping kids out: "N is on the bottom row..." but most of the kids were having more trouble with the SHIFT key than anything else.
Except for one little girl who wasn't paying attention as she typed, so her letter began:
Dear Santa,
