OMSI, also known as the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, provides all sorts of exciting educational experiences to Portland residents and visitors. Weekend and ongoing classes cover everything from food science to robotics, and each summer at OMSI is filled with more than 200 seasonal classes and camps! Sign up your young astrologer, geologist, paleontologist, naturalist or everyday outdoors enthusiast for a camp structured for his or her age group that’s sure to teach the fundamentals (as well as lots of fun extras) of their selected special interests. All year long, OMSI classes cater to budding earth scientists, chefs, animators, engineers and other inquisitive learners of all ages. Grownups can also enjoy OMSI After Dark events featuring exciting demos, as well as snacks and beverages. And of the course the whole family can visit OMSI Tuesdays through Sundays to see what’s new in a wide variety of science and technology labs and exhibits. From the hands-on Science Playground to the monumental Empirical Theater, OMSI offers all of its visitors something new to discover each time they visit.
