You can visit Budget’s website to view daily, weekly and monthly rental deals. You’ll save $50 on monthly rentals and receive even more discounts the longer you rent.

Pay Up Front

One of the easiest ways to save on your car rental is to pay when you make your reservation. If you are a strict planner, this may be the option for you. Just browse the rental options from Budget.com and select the “Pay Now Rate” which is always cheaper than the option to pay at the counter.

Rent Last Minute

Although it’s a gamble for some, waiting to make your reservation can pay off with Budget, gaining you access to savings of up to 60% off regular rates. Last minute rates aren’t available for every location, which could leave you out in the cold. If you’re not a big risk taker, you could also play it safe by booking a reservation early. Just make sure to choose a rate that allows for free or inexpensive cancellations so you’ll be able to snatch up that great deal when you see it.

Creative Deal Hunting

Use your Memberships

Budget loves making deals with membership programs to offer you even bigger discounts, so chances are quite a few of those cards in your wallet can actually save you extra cash on your rental. AARP members get perks like rental discounts or complimentary upgrades. Costco shoppers can add an additional driver free or save on GPS rentals, while USAA members get up to 20% off, waived young driver fees and unlimited mileage on most rentals. Southwest Rapid Rewards members get special discounts and a big boost in point earning. Budget even offers bonuses to anyone with a Visa card.

Budget Teams Up with Other Rewards Programs

Budget isn’t content with just saving you money on your rental. They also want to earn you points and rewards with a host of other brands. If you’re part of any hotel rewards or frequent flier programs, check to see if your Budget rental will earn you points on those memberships. They have partnerships with companies including American Airlines, Hilton HHonors, and Amtrak.

Deals for Veterans

Budget is also saluting our military by providing exceptional discounts for veterans. Those who enroll in the Veterans Advantage program can save up to 25% on rentals across America! But that’s not all. This program provides veterans with travel insurance and travel protection services, and even offers discounts from other companies Budget has partnered up with such as United Airlines and Amtrak.

How Experts Save Even More

Shop in Groups

If you have a big event coming up such as a family reunion or company convention, renting in bulk will pay off at Budget. Renting five or more cars makes you eligible for special discounts. Plus, you can enjoy unlimited mileage, 24-hour roadside assistance, and Rapid Return service which gets you in and out quickly when bringing your rental back to a Budget location.

Avoid Airport Locations

Though convenient for those traveling by plane, renting a car at an airport location can often be significantly pricier than a neighborhood location. Hefty additional taxes may also apply. Review your final price after fees and taxes are calculated for renting at off-airport locations. It just might be worth the cab ride.

Avoid Unnecessary Add-Ons

Do you really need that GPS if you’ve got a good app on your phone? And how about that expensive insurance? Your own car insurance may very well cover rental cars. Contact your agent in advance to check if your policy covers rentals. If you aren’t covered, your credit card may come in handy since many credit card companies provide this coverage if your card is used to pay for the rental.

Incentives for Businesses

It’s worthwhile for businesses that rent frequently to sign up for the Budget Business Program. Registered businesses are assigned a discount ID, which gives the most valuable discounts available at the time of rental. This program also earns companies $3 back with each day of rental up to $45 per month. These cash back incentives can be redeemed by presenting $15 vouchers that are sent out on a quarterly basis. There are even more perks available like billing services, unlimited mileage, no fees for additional drivers, and Fastbreak service, which means less paperwork and hassle for company representatives.
