Founded in 1892, Abercrombie & Fitch began as a supplier of rugged outdoor equipment. David T. Abercrombie, a former trapper, prospector and surveyor, wanted the best in camping gear. From the start, then, the company was dedicated to quality and innovation. Luckily, among Abercrombie's clientele was one Ezra Fitch, a lawyer who shared Abercrombie's love of the outdoors. Eventually, they became the namesakes of one of the world's most influential retailers of luxury clothing, were acquired by The Limited, Inc. in 1988 and have since transitioned into a fashion-oriented casual wear trendsetter. Practically every high-end mall and shopping district features a distinctive, low-lit AC, with not only stylish clothing but exclusive personal care products and accessories for teens and young adults.
