Designer denim is all the rage these days, with fancy pockets, embroidery, high end labels and colored stitching carrying price tags of upwards of $250. Now we like a fine looking pair of jeans as much as the next person, but we have a hard time justifying spending as much on a pair of pants as we would on a week’s worth of groceries. That being said, it doesn’t mean we don’t care about our denim, just that we prefer to keep it in perspective. So, you may be wondering, what’s a good in-between? Jeans that hold their shape and color wash after wash, can be dressed up for a night out, and don’t cost the same as a trip to the orthodontist aren’t all that hard to come by, but we’re happy to help you narrow the playing field. Our current favorite jeans come from American Eagle. I also found a coupon for American Eagle Jeans for Free shipping on orders of $100+.

You might have already gone crazy with the price scanner gun zapping all the items you’d love to be gifted in celebration of your nuptials, but there are a few options beyond brick and mortar stores worth checking out. Too often, IKEA gets a bum wrap. I've heard people say it's cheesy, it's poorly made, no reasonable adult should still have anything from there. But I, and many others, will have to disagree. Ikea has a great aesthetic. It's clean and sleek without being pretentious - for example, you wouldn't walk into somebody's home and feel like you shouldn't take a seat on a tufted KARLSTAD (left), but you wouldn't turn your nose up either. And let's face it, if you're in search of a contemporary look for your home, modern designs tend to be a little pricey. As for quality, sure, it has the capacity to get a little dinged up, but what doesn't? My Ikea bookshelves survived four years of college and a couple of California earthquakes, and will likely get repurposed at my next domicile. Most things will last if you treat them right, but this is true for most things, isn't it?
