Shop, Pay and Save with PayPal

Shop, Pay and Save with PayPal

If you think your PayPal account is only good for completing transactions on eBay think again. Not only is PayPal accepted by hundreds of online merchants, but using the service can actually help save you money on your favorite brands and products with exclusive discounts, coupons and other great offers.

PayPal Offers: A Deal Just for You!paypal offers

As a long-time PayPal user, I was already a fan of how quickly and easily I could complete purchases with it. So when I discovered PayPal Offers, I felt like I'd hit the jackpot! The Offers page is part of the PayPal Shopping site, which is dedicated to all of the current – and future – deals that PayPal has to offer its members. The PayPal Shopping page is updated daily with new deals and discounts. All the offers on the page are searchable by merchant, offer type, expiration date and category.

Take a look through the current deals and you'll find many that are familiar; PayPal displays deals like sales or coupon codes that you are likely to see elsewhere, such as a merchant's homepage. Some of these offers can only be found through the PayPal site, and even fewer are exclusive to a select group of PayPal users. I've found that these exclusive offers are not searchable in the PayPal website, meaning they truly are deals just for you! One of the only ways you'll find them is through your email, so it's best that you make sure to have your email preferences set up so that you receive a notification when you have a new offer available. Some of these exclusive offers are also accessible through your PayPal Wallet.

For example, here is a deal that I received for $50 off any order of $200 or more at Sunglass Hut. It came through my email, so I knew right away this was an offer picked just for me.

How These Offers Work

How would you go about redeeming this offer? Well first, you need to have a PayPal account! Seems silly to have to point that out, but the only way to properly redeem any of these offers is to have your own account. Once you've found an offer that you like, either through the PayPal Offers page or through your email, make sure that you click the PayPal link to the merchant's website in order to complete your purchase. Using the link that PayPal provides ensures that you will get the deal you are after. So, when I redeemed the Sunglass Hut offer, I made sure to click through the link within the email.

After you click through the merchant's site, shop as you normally would. Make sure that you fulfill all of the deal requirements, such as a purchase minimum, making a purchase from a particular department or buying specific number of items. Once you're through, proceed to the checkout and select PayPal as your form of payment. When the transaction is complete, you'll notice that there will be two different totals. This may seem like a mistake, but it's not! The receipt you'll get from the merchant will show the total amount without the PayPal discount, however, it will be there when you view your PayPal account summary.

Why? Simply because PayPal hashes out all the discount details with the merchant so you don't Paypal apphave to. All you need to know is that you are getting a great deal. Since PayPal sends the merchant all of the funds required to pay your order total, the merchant website and communications to you about your order will show you the full total value paid to the merchant.

The PayPal App

You can also access and use your Offers through the PayPal App. The app enables you to view exclusive offers while you're in-store. A great tool to have to make sure you're getting the best offer at any given time.
