PETCO offers an easy to understand return policy for anyone who has made a purchase, either online or in one of their retail locations. There are a few things you should know so you can take advantage of the policy should you ever need it.

Online Returns

Returns are accepted within 30 days of the original purchase. If you have ordered an item online you will need to have a copy of the packing slip in order to make a return. The return address is also found on this slip. Simply call customer service for a return authorization, pack the unused, unopened items securely, and send it back with any method that offers tracking and insurance. Once your return is received, a refund for the amount minus shipping and handling will be issued to your original payment method.

Store Returns

The same 30 day policy applies to store returns with a few exceptions. If you've purchased a companion animal, you will have 15 days to make the return. Saltwater species are non-returnable. If you have lost the receipt, PETCO will still offer an exchange based on their honor system, though it is up to the management whether an exchange can be made without a receipt, so it's best to hang on to your receipt.
