Clearance merchandise cannot be returned or exchanged. The customer must present a receipt or packaging invoice to make a return or an exchange. If you’re giving a Hot Topic item as a gift make sure you keep the receipt! Clothing and shoes may be returned as long as they do not show wear and tear. When returning or exchanging an item by mail, it’s very important to e-mail or call Hot Topic prior to sending the return. The customer needs a Return Authorization Number for FedEx and a FexEx return label which will be issued by Hot Topic and e-mailed to the customer. Hot Topic cannot return the original shipping costs. Returns are generally credited to the customer’s account in one to seven business days. With exchanges, the customer is charged when the new order is placed and credited when the original merchandise is received by Hot Topic.
