An Outdoor Camping Checklist
Nothing can ruin an outdoor camping trip quicker than being unprepared. You should always make a checklist of items needed (before taking off) to ensure that you have everything you need and might end up needing. Below is a basic checklist for camping supplies:
Shelter
You'll need a tent or an RV. If bringing a tent, make sure all stakes are accounted for, and there are no rips or tears that will allow rain or bugs to get in.
Bedding
Bring along enough sleeping bags, pillows and extra blankets in case some get wet or the weather becomes colder than expected.
Cooking
Make sure to bring along any cookware and dinnerware that will be needed. If using a grill, be sure it is fueled up, and if using a campfire, be sure you have enough wood and a good lighting source.
Lighting
Lanterns, flashlights, generators and light sticks should be brought along. Be sure you have propane or batteries for lanterns.
First Aid
A basic first aid kit should be brought along in case of any accidents. Include bug spray and anti itch ointment in your kit, along with a snake bite kit, just in case.
Personal
Of course your personal hygiene and clothing items will be included, and if you plan on hiking, fishing or engaging in other activities, you should pack accordingly.
