How to Use The Borders Magic Shelf

The new Magic Shelf on the Borders website is a slick new way to browse books, DVDs, and music that the store sells. The process on how to use it is simple and straightforward.

Go to Borders.com
To find the Magic Shelf, simply go to the main Borders web page. It will load automatically in the middle of the page provided you have Adobe Flash Player version 9 or higher installed on your computer.

Browsing Books
There are categories on the left side of the Magic Shelf. To look at one, simply click it and the shelf will display its contents. Underneath the category title on the shelf itself are rectangles, and they represent the number of horizontal screens you can view. Click an empty rectangle to change your view.

Browsing Music and DVDs
Browsing music and DVDs works the same way as browsing books does. Simply choose the category “New Music” or the category “New DVDs” to get started.

Picks for You
The top category is called “Picks for You.” If you have a Borders.com account, you can customize preferences for what will show up here. You simply must choose the categories of books, movies, and music that you like, and the website will automatically populate this part of the shelf with the things you like.
