Well, you can always ask your friends for advice, or simply check out any number of Product Review sites. They're loaded with tons of info-packed reviews intended to help you decide on which model to get. But before you start comparing specific models, you'll want to make sure you know what features you're looking for and what models contain those features. Since there are so many different reviewers out there, try a few of these sites so you can get a variety of opinions. And just as with movie critics, some reviewers are closer to your tastes than others.

Epinions.com
Browse through categories or simply search by keyword to read reviews (both good and bad) from average consumers. Besides unbiased advice on over 100,000 products and services, Epinions.com also includes professional reviews, related sites and direct buying links. Get opinions on everything from toys to housewares to movies to colleges.

ConsumerREVIEW.com
Get plenty of reviews and ratings on items like cars, electronics, computers, sporting goods, music equipment, home and garden, family and more. Hear all the pros and cons from consumers just like yourself. Also contains a handful of "communities" that offer features, news, tips, a marketplace for buying and selling, and more.

Amazon.com
One of the best places on the Internet to find product reviews is Amazon.com. Simply locate the product you're interested in on Amazon's website and see what past purchasers of that item have to say about it. In some cases you'll find literally hundreds of comments about the item. Just keep in mind that most of these are opinions from non-experts.

Consumer Reports Online
The authority on product reviews, Consumer Reports covers everything from cars to stereos to dishwashers. You'll get more than enough objective, unbiased information in a completely ad-free environment. The one downside to this truly resourceful site? It ain't free. You've either gotta shell out roughly $4 a month or the bargain price of $24 a year.

Strong automobile coverage, as well as electronics, home office, and home & family reviews.

Whether you're a hi-tech junkie or can't tell a computer mouse from a real one, Cnet.com lays it all out for you. You'll find detailed reviews, strategy guides and even price comparisons on just about everything technological including computers, software, digital cameras, MP3 players, CD players, TVs, DVDs, VCRs and more. A great resource.
