Scientists and writers have foretold a time when the machines will rise up and become mankind's overlords. That may happen, but that day has not come yet and robots are still in the service of those with flesh and bones. In fact, these little Roomba vacuum machines from iRobot could compete with Fido for the position of man's best friend. Their brains allow them to cover an entire house while avoiding pitfalls like stairs, wires and other obstacles. It'll clean for two hours and then automatically find its docking station and charge itself to start again. iRobot offers vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, moppers, pool cleaners and even gutter clearing bots.
