Ahhh, every parent struggles with finding a happy medium and keeping the articles in our own households instead of a lost and found. I wish we could sew the coat onto strings like we can our mittens!

I love a cook who is “real”. Someone who uses the mixes that I can pick up with a coupon or really good sale at my local grocery store. I still watch “America’s test kitchen”

Awww– me too! My daughter has congenital heart failure and we just don’t have time to garden, but I love flowers! I was telling my husband that we need something VERY simple, I’m thinking day lilies, daffodils, and tulips =)

Great advice on the jewelry bit– I had no idea there were jewelry sales right now- I do know they mark down quite a bit when they’re trying to offload them, but didn’t know there was a usual time for that, thanks~!

Hey, don’t forget that any of the cub scouts that will be joining him at a “later date” will be stoked too! It’s always fun to celebrate with a whole different crowd of people anyway. (i.e. Paris Hilton having parties in three different cities for her birthday!?) Happy birthday to your son!

Oh my gosh, same as at my house. I have to say, one of the best things ever is the clear plastic table cloth you can buy to lay OVER your vintage one. That way, you can still admire the beauty underneath, and protect it from stains and spills. You can get them at walmart or places like that- but, the best one I ever purchased was at Bed Bath and Beyond or one of “those” kinds of stores. It was thicker plastic and better quality, by far. Nice dishes don’t get ruined until someone decides to put them in the sink and then pile all the pans and whatnot into it as well… SIGH. I remember my mom always saying “why can’t I have anything NICE!?” It really struck a chord the first time I heard that come out of MY mouth.

Don’t count on being able to use that table cloth anytime soon my kids are in high school and still its like they are toddlers when it comes to spills. I to love the table cloth look but its just not practicle and forget about putting out nice dishes!

I know what you mean about not always liking your kids music but as a parent you do need to be involved in what your kids listen to. It not always that bad, some things are kind of fun and it kind of an education at the same time
