Uniformity

My kids wear uniforms to school. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that there are good and bad points about this.  school-uniform

GOOD:
I don’t have to fight with my kids about what they can wear to school.
I don’t have to hurry anyone along while they stand in their closet tossing clothes onto the floor, trying to decide what to wear.

BAD:
If you can’t find your uniform shoes, you miss the bus while you look for them, because you can’t just put on some other pair of shoes and get out the door.
You’re more limited as to where you can purchase uniforms, and you need to buy more things all at once instead of spreading out your purchases over time.

Don’t get me started on uniform shoes. My high-school student is required to wear a certain shoe that runs about $90. For a high-school boy. I don’t have $90 shoes, and my feet stopped growing decades ago. Boys’ feet do grow during the high-school years. They grow a lot, actually.

All in all, though, the good outweighs the bad. I’m willing to make the sacrifices necessary for an easier morning each and every school day.

Nice post..you describe the importance of uniform in a well sophisticated manner..but the bad point about the uniform shoes will be tackled easily..if we make daily schedules for the kids. The most interesting part was the deals which are available in order to save money..thx It’s worth reading it.
