Each week, our resident Couponista, Amy Leneker, shares her personal shopping experiences and extreme couponing tips so that you too can be a Coupon Expert!

If you want to take advantage of the best deals (and who doesn’t?), I suggest you create a Coupon Identity. There are so many great deals and coupons online but many of them require you to create an account before you can score the savings. Rather than using my personal email for the dozens (and dozens!) of sites, I have created a separate coupon identity. It is an email address that I only use for couponing.

Before You Shop, Check Your Coupon Identity Inbox

Many companies send special coupons and discounts to the folks on their list-serve. By having a separate email account, you can quickly and easily see the discounts you are interested in (and want to print) and the ones you aren’t (and can easily delete). When I am preparing my grocery list, I always first do a quick scan of my coupon identity inbox. The week before Thanksgiving I had several email discounts that helped with my Turkey Day shopping.

One Login for All Sign-Ups

Another benefit of having a coupon identity is that I always have the same login and password. When I need to log into an account before I can print the coupons, I never have to think twice about which account it's under.

Did I mention that Dairy Queen emailed my coupon identity a discount for a buy-one-get-one free Blizzard too? I took this as a sign from the universe that if I was going to be making a Turkey Day feast for my family, I should at least treat myself to a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard. Thanks to the coupon, I scored a free one too.  Free ice cream? Now that is something to be grateful for!
