Thanksgiving weekend will be stuffed with deals. According to Shop.org, nine out of ten online retailers are offering special bargains Thanksgiving weekend, with 80 percent featuring Cyber Monday specials. Cyber Monday isn't just for tablets and t-shirts. It's also a great time to score super travel deals.
Be Prepared to Act Fast
Just like the frenzy outside Best Buy on Black Friday, some travel sites create bigger buzz by keeping their Cyber Monday sales limited. They may only make the offer available to a certain number of customers or they could keep the sale live for only an hour or two. According to NY1.com hotel Z New York is offering a fast a furious 28-minute sale where from noon until 12:28 rooms will go for $128 each. The best Cyber Monday shoppers are ready to pounce when the deal is hot. So make sure your credit card is at arms-length and your fingers are limber.
Book Hotel Stays
Several hotel chains are offering Cyber Monday savings. These discounts are pretty unusual so it's a great time to book a stay. For instance, according to the Red Roof Inn Facebook page they're holding a Cyber Monday sale starting at 12am on Monday, November 28. For 24 hours you can get 15 percent off your next stay at any Red Roof Inn. Marriott is also promoting a special Cyber Monday 24-hour sale. This e-shopping spree can save you up to 25% with rates starting from $95 to $186 per night.
Plan Ahead
To score a great Cyber Monday or Black Friday deal with Yuupon you'll need to sign up ahead of time. They're calling their event the "Not a Typo" sale because from 9am to 9pm on Black Friday and Cyber Monday the deals are so good you might think they made a mistake. For instance, you'll be able to score a one-night stay in Branson for $13, a $50 major airline credit for $5 and a Florida dolphin cruise for $3.
Follow Targets on Facebook and Twitter
Whether you're hunting for a great discounted travel package or a reduced hotel rate, follow your favorite companies on Twitter and Facebook. Plenty of travel providers like rewarding their faithful fans with early access to deals or exclusive offers. For instance, experts advise following @SPGInsider (Starwood Preferred Guest) on Twitter to get a six-hour head start on Cyber Monday deals.
Get Cash Back Bumped Up
No matter what you're shopping for it's a good idea to start at a shopping portal that offers cash back like Ebates.com. But for Cyber Monday they often bumpĀ up their cash back amounts-- even doubling some offers. For instance, right now you can score 13% cash back on your purchase with Holiday Inn and 10% at VRBO.com. Expect to see some of those offers increase come Cyber Monday when deals tend to get even better.
Don't Rule Out Black Friday
Just as big box retailers keep creeping up their Black Friday hours, online retailers are doing some of the same. According to USA Today discount travel site Travelocity.com plans to expand their Cyber Monday sale to Black Friday this year. They'll have a special site in place only for Black Friday and again on Cyber Monday. So after you hit the mall you may want to boot up your computer to test out travel deals.
