Consumers pay big bucks to know what celebrities are wearing, eating and buying. We (and by we I mean me) follow (and by follow I mean kindly stalk) our favorite celebrities on Twitter with hopes of getting a better look into who they are. But did you know that there are celebrities that blog about subjects other than themselves? These blogs were launched by reality stars and famous actors to give the world the kind of information and entertainment they were craving. It's a cool way to explore another side to your favorite celebrities.
HelloGiggles.com, Co-Founded by Zooey Deschanel
According to HelloGiggles.com, it was co-founded by actress and musician Zooey Deschanel along with two other creative ladies. It's meant to be the ultimate entertainment destination for "smart, independent and creative females." You'll find witty articles and funny video clips, but you won't find anything that is purely guy humor.
Goop.com, Founded by Gwyneth Paltrow
Goop.com is a look into the life of the famous actress Gwyneth Paltrow. When the weekly newsletter launched she told Huffington Post that she decided to launch Goop "because I felt like I had a lot of really useful information that I was privileged enough to get, because I have this amazing, super, fortunate life." You can sign up to have Gwenyth's recipes, personal travel notes and advice sent right to your inbox or just check out the website for regularly updated articles.
TheBeautyDepartment.com, Co-Founded by Lauren Conrad
If you've ever had a beauty question or, as the website says, gotten in a fight with a hair brush and lost then Thebeautydepartment.com is for you. Reality star and author Lauren Conrad co-founded the site with two other women. They wanted a platform for sharing how-tos and information about their favorite products. They're not gearing the site for celebs-- they're focused on real people who don't have a full-time makeup artist on staff. So if you're looking for a daily dose of pretty, check out Thebeautydepartment.com.
HuffingtonPost.com, Contributions by Alec Baldwin
You may know Alec Baldwin from his work on Saturday Night Live or 30 Rock, but readers can get a glimpse at another side of Alec at HuffingtonPost.com. He's a blogger for the site, covering topics ranging from politics to arts. His contributions are a bit sporadic, I suppose depending on his work schedule. But they're always well written and, perhaps surprisingly, not always about him.
HerSay.com, Hosted by Soleil Moon Frye
You may remember her as the fun-loving little girl Punky Brewster, but Soleil Moon Frye is all grown up with children of her own. She's sharing parenting advice, fashion tips, technology trends and more daily through her video blog at HerSay.com. She's joined by a series of bloggers, hosts and experts who discuss hot topics with her. And while she may talk about her own experiences as a mom, most of the content is created for women everywhere-- not just those in Hollywood.
