What do moms talk about on Facebook? Among my circle of friends, the subject is often laundry.
"Starburst wrappers in the dryer's lint filter can mean only one thing: my son's home from college," I wrote one day.
"I have a problem with folding two kleenex and putting them in my pocket when I go for walks . . . I don't ever use them, but I do forget them in my pockets . . . inevitably, I launder them and make a huge mess," a friend replied.
"I found tissue shreds too. But the Starburst wrappers can only be blamed on one person!"
"I'd rather the Starburst wrappers . . . without the candy in them, of course. Just the wrappers. LOL," was the response.
A third friend chimed in, "Better than a pen..."
Yet another mom jumped into the discussion: "Tissue shreds!!! I have that problem in the dryer. My rule about money in the washer or dryer is finders keepers (although I've been known to give back bills of $5 or greater)!"
"I have the same rule about money," I commented. "I consider that my "tip." If you're old enough to carry money, you're old enough to check your pockets before putting clothes in the laundry hamper. (And if you're not old enough to carry money, I don't WANT to check your pockets, because they might contain crickets, ABC gum, or something equally disgusting. But I probably SHOULD check your pockets for exactly that reason!)"
