What is it about spring that makes people want to clean?

I love being a homemaker, and I'll very happily cook and bake all day.  It's the cleaning up that gets to me.  That's just not my favorite thing to do.  I'll put off mopping my kitchen floor until I can't walk across it without getting stuck--or we're having company, whichever comes first.  Under normal circumstances, that is.

But let the weather suddenly turn warm and sunny after a long, cold, snowy winter, and you'll even find me pulling out the Windex and washing windows.

The grocery stores are on to people like me.  Have you noticed all the sales lately on household cleaners?  And magazines like Real Simple have cover stories about spring cleaning!  Even I will be sucked into their story titled "Spring Cleaning Shortcuts:  28 strategies and products that really work."  If only reading about it could make it happen without requiring any actual work.

I guess that's why one of their other cover stories is "How to Stop Procrastinating--Now."
