There is no shortage of planning options for couples who want to organize an upcoming wedding.  You could go with a paper-and-pencil wedding organizer, which were just coming into fashion when I got married a little more than 20 years ago.

But now, it's very easy to take wedding planning to a whole new high-tech level.  A recent online search revealed at least 1,000 different apps for the iPhone or iPad alone that will help future brides and grooms make sure that every detail of their wedding day is perfect.  Believe me, these app designers have thought of everything.

There are all-purpose wedding organizers that help you track everything from buying the engagement ring to setting the honeymoon itinerary.  There are countdown clocks that let you know exactly how many seconds will pass before you walk down the aisle.  You'll find apps specifically related to wedding-dress shopping.  Other apps help you budget for the big day.  Writing your own vows?  There's an app to give you inspiration.  You can even get apps to help you complete your bridal-shower registry.

If you're a wedding guest and you're afraid that there won't be silverware handy when you want to "ding" a glass to cue the happy couple to kiss each other, you can download a "Wedding Dinger" app with several different glassware options.

And for those who just love weddings--their own or someone else's--there are even "virtual wedding" games you can play.
