It may have felt like spring in much of the country during the last couple of days, but it's still February.  My kids have been playing basketball outside in shorts and T-shirts, and today, two of them are participating in the Polar Bear Plunge; I've had the windows open and laundry on the clothesline.

Now they're talking about the possibility of snow for next week:  in the Midwest, as soon as tomorrow.

With the unusually cold and snowy winter we've experienced already this year, there's been a lot of talk about what people do to get through the winter weather.  Of course, you always see the supermarket runs as people stock up on bread, milk and eggs.  French toast seems to be the breakfast to make on snowy mornings.

But one of my aunts has shared her secret to winter storm survival.  When the meteorologists predict snowy weather, she heads out to the store--for chocolate donuts.

Sounds good to me.  A chocolate donut makes any day better, snowy or not!
