You know it's getting to be tax time 
when a quarter of the commercials you see on daytime TV are for tax preparers (the other 3/4 are fairly evenly split between ambulance-chasing lawyers, correspondence schools and antacids).

I think the hardest part of doing taxes can be choosing your tax preparer. You can do it yourself, depend on a friend or relative (Hi, Dad!) or go to one of those tax services that pops up in strip malls every January. If you do it yourself, you have to choose whether to file electronically or fill in those little forms, with all that fine print, by hand.
But if you go with a pro, you can choose to get a "refund anticipation loan." Think you're getting a refund? For a price, you can get that refund right this minute. That's probably the only kind of "instant" we can talk about when it comes to the IRS.
