Everybody's got a story
to tell about the time someone forgot to turn off their cell phone when they were in the kind of place where silence is expected. A recent conversation on Facebook led to these tales of woe--the kind where it's funny as long as it doesn't happen to you.
- In the 6th Judicial Circuit Court, Florida: cell phone began to play "****in' Perfect" by Pink
- A teacher in a middle school in California's cell phone went off during class: "Raise Your Glass" by Pink
- At a church choir practice in New Jersey: "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred
- During a symposium conducted by a world-famous doctor: the Hillbilly Horn iPhone app blurted out "You're a g**-d*** moron!"
If When this happens to you, you'd better hope that you have a fabulous bag to distract people from your ill-behaved phone. Or you could ignore the phone entirely. During a recent church service I attended, someone's phone was ringing intermittently for about ten minutes. There was no move made to leave the service or to turn off the phone. The phone's owner simply pretended they didn't hear it. Meanwhile, everyone else in the vicinity was looking around, trying to figure out where the ringing was coming from. Either that, or they didn't recognize the sound of a RINGING phone rather than one with an obnoxious dance-mix ringtone.
