For a while now, I've known that Lucky Charms are made with whole grain.  It says so right on the box.

I'm guessing that doesn't include the marshmallows.  It's not like anyone eats the cereal part of Lucky Charms anyway.  That's just there because no one can get away with marketing a box full of marshmallows as a nutritious breakfast food.

Much as I love sugary cereals, I don't choose them because they're good for you.  And I'm OK with that.  The occasional Cocoa Puff isn't going to kill me, especially if I usually have Special K for breakfast.  But last time I reached for a box of Corn Pops in the supermarket, I was quite surprised to read what was on the label.

First of all, they weren't always called Corn Pops.  When I was a kid, they were labeled Sugar Pops.  Now that's truth in labeling.  There was no question that we weren't talking about a healthy option here.  Now the Corn Pops box has a big seal on it that reads "Good source of fiber."

I guarantee you that anyone who buys Corn Pops is not worried in any way about their fiber content.

Pass the Crunch Berries.
