Do you have a running list of things you need for around the house? Right now, at the top of my list, is a new extension cord for the Christmas tree. 
I burned through two extension cords this year. Those handy-dandy "tree light cords" that have outlets built in at three different points along the length of the cord are a great idea. In theory.
But when your 7-foot Christmas tree is adorned with upwards of 1600 lights, those cords apparently can't take the pressure.
My neighbor reigns as the Queen of Christmas-Tree Lights this year, with 2000 lights on her tree. I should find out what kind of heavy-duty electrical equipment she's using to keep everything illuminated. I figure that at this time of year, I might find something on sale, and then I can put it away with the boxes of ornaments (including the toilet-paper-tube-and-doily treetop angel) and have everything ready to go for next December.
