Today, my husband and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary.

When we were planning our wedding all those years ago, we weren't thinking about the fact that it was less than three weeks after Christmas, or even that it was the middle of December and winter weather might complicate matters on our wedding day.

I wore snow boots to the church, changing into my pretty wedding shoes after wading through big snowpiles at the curb.  Stylish!

We didn't think about the fact that future anniversary celebrations might be impacted by the weather as well.  We'd like to go somewhere and enjoy the day together, but it's too cold to be outside for any length of time.  And with all the snow we've been getting, any kind of travel is a challenge as well.

The traditional gift for a 20th wedding anniversary is china.   I can imagine my husband's expression if I hand him a big box of dishes.    But, knowing this, I think I've got a good idea for our anniversary dinner.  Let's go to Chinatown!
