I generally don't watch pro football; once Notre Dame's season is over, I'm done watching until the next fall. But I was going to watch a football game Sunday night.
I wanted to see how a football game would be played in the snow. Lots of snow. Not to mention wind. With several inches on the field and 40-mph wind gusts that were blowing the still-falling snow all over the place, the Eagles-Vikings game in Philadelphia on Sunday night promised to be interesting.
Would grandstanding like DeSean Jackson's gallop along the goal line in the final minutes of the game against the Giants last week be greeted with snowballs? Would there be fans in the stands to throw snowballs at all? And what would happen to field-goal kicks in 40-mph winds?
I'm all for telling people to stay off the roads in storms, but I can't help but feel a little deprived of the chance to watch some extreme football.
