I'm the biggest fan ever of free shipping. Most of my online orders are placed, and I believe that this year I've only paid shipping charges on two items (and one of those was a hard-to-find item my mom asked me to find and order for her.)
While I enjoy browsing in stores as much as the next shopper, I was reminded the other day why I prefer to shop online as I waited in a long line for one cashier to assist the customers ahead of me with their stacks of presents. One lady bought so much that she had trouble carrying her several bags out of the store! Then I had to walk outside into the cold wind and find my way to my rather remote parking space--and this was during the day on a weekday.
I can just imagine what that parking lot's going to look like come tomorrow afternoon.
I'd much prefer to stay home with my hot tea and my Snuggie™ and let the presents come to me.
