In our basement, we have a 12 X 12 finished room, complete with a closet. Over the years, it's served as storage for out-of-season clothes and abandoned toys.
It's done a stint as a home office. And, once we squeezed a twin bed in there as well, it's become a guest bedroom.
There's a little too much "multi" in that multi-purpose room. There's just a little too much everything in there.
I have the feeling that we could manage two out of three; it could be an office/guest room, or office/storage, or even guest room/storage, though that last would be tough to pull off. It's really the storage part that kills me. Part of that problem is that I have about 6 bins of hand-me-down clothes that are waiting for Mr. Third Grader to grow into them. Between his older brother and the Boy Next Door, Mr. Third Grader's got wardrobe staples in the next 5 sizes.
Maybe next week, when I have two strong teenagers home from school with nothing to do but surf the internet and fight with their little brother, I'll get some help clearing the place out. But throwing out old toys could be a problem; when I tossed the Beyblades, it came back to haunt me only a few months later.
