Over the river and through the woods...we're getting ready to embark on our Christmas-week whirlwind tour of the state of New Jersey. 
We'll put several hundred miles on the car over the course of the week, making at least three northbound trips to see different bunches of relatives.
Maybe a better theme song would be that Simon and Garfunkel tune--the one with the lyric: Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike...
We'll want to check the fuel: Is there gas in the car? Yes, there's gas in the car, and make sure that we've got water bottles, snacks, and everyone's mp3 player or Game Boy, because we're sure to run into at least one traffic jam that leaves the freeway looking like a parking lot.
By the time the week is over, all I'll want to say is show me the way to go home.
