The things you hear about when you watch the morning news are not always newsworthy, but generally interesting. I don't watch 
the national "morning shows," but one of the local channels in Philadelphia airs its own morning show every day from 4:30 until 10. You get a combination of regular news, traffic and weather reports, sports stories, and a good dose of other random stuff.
I tend to ignore the random stuff, focusing instead on the weather reports. But one story definitely caught my attention. Someone brought a bag of Candy Cane Tootsie Pops into the newsroom.
Lollipops can definitely get in the way of effective news reporting, but I didn't care. This was news! I'm a fan of chocolate-and-mint combinations, whether we're talking about York Peppermint Patties, Chick-Fil-A Peppermint Chip milkshakes, or Breyer's mint chocolate chip ice cream. Mint and chocolate go together so well, so I was happy to hear that the Tootsie Pop folks had found a way to mix up tootsie rolls and candy canes into one delicious treat.
These are good--really good--but if you want to try them, don't wait to buy a bag or ten. They're around for a limited time only.
