Miss Freshman is celebrating her fifteenth birthday today with a trip to New York City. It's not as fun as you might think,
though--this is no pleasure trip. She's there for a track met.
She'll be running in the 4 x 400 relay as well as a longer-distance race, and she had to wake up all kinds of early on her special day to get to school on time. Then she'll be spending a good chunk of her birthday on a school bus, more than two hours each way to and from the city.
Here's to a happy birthday--and a medal-winning performance in at least one of her races! When we pick her up after the meet, there will be birthday cupcakes for the whole team.
