It's a "bye" year this year for me. I'll be cooking dinner at home instead of traveling to the Great White North to have dinner at my sister's with my family. Instead, the in-laws are coming to our place. 
My sister and I both love cooking Thanksgiving dinner. We're different in many ways, but this is one thing we definitely share in common. And like our grandmother, we get up super-early on Thanksgiving morning to get dinner off to the right start. While everyone else in my house is still fast asleep, and the men in her house head off to hunt the pheasant that will be part of Friday's dinner, she'll send me a quick email to let me know that all's quiet and I can give her a call.
We'll spend the next hour or so on the phone while we peel potatoes, chop onions and stuff turkeys. There's nothing like cooking together without getting in each other's way!
