It's that time of year again: the wind is getting chilly and even with the heat on in the house, it's never quite warm enough. 
Add in the fact that the kids never want to keep the door shut and you've got a recipe for a drafty afternoon.
I'm glad I have a Snuggie™. Those things are amazingly warm for something so lightweight. Stylish, not so much--but I'll sacrifice style for warmth any day of the week. And they're the only blanket that I can manage to use when I sit at my desk, since they won't slip down off my shoulders.
I've even solved the problem of where to keep the Snuggie™ when it's not in use (like when I'm cooking dinner. Blankets and stoves do not mix.) I found a nice basket that's just the right size for my folded blanket, and I keep that right next to my favorite living-room chair.
But come Saturday morning, that Snuggie™ is going to have to leave the house. Mr. Third Grader has an 8 AM soccer game, and the forecast is for chilly weather. There's a good change that it will be below freezing at 8 AM. If that's the case, I'm going to be prepared.
