Last weekend I had to head out at 6 AM so I could see a football game.  I knew it had gotten cold overnight, but I was really surprised to discover that I had to scrape a coating of frost off the windshield before I could drive up to North Jersey.

On the way up, I had the news station on the radio, and was reminded of a new law in my state this year:  when it snows, you have to scrape all the snow off your car.  That includes the roof and the hood and the top of the trunk.  There will be no driving around with a foot of snow on top of your van anymore.

That's a good thing, and I do understand the point of it.  However, I've got a minivan, and I'm vertically challenged.  It's going to be tough for someone my height to clear every bit of snow from the roof of something as tall as my van.  Hopefully this winter will be a lot less severe than the last one.
