Time to dig out the Under Armour, gloves and hats. There's a soccer game tomorrow morning! 
Those early starts for November games mean that the kids on the field are shivering more than they're dribbling. And the parents on the sidelines are drinking gallons of hot chocolate and coffee, trying to stay warm.
It's November in the Northeast. That means high winds and that kind of damp cold that chills you right to the bone, even if you wear two pairs of pants and three shirts, plus a coat and hat. A couple of kids on my son's team were wearing thermal "longjohns" under their soccer uniforms last week, which I thought was a smart move. Several more wore gloves--even though they weren't the goalie. Knit hats were more the rule than the exception for the boys on this team.
Tomorrow morning my son and I will layer on the warm clothes and head over to the soccer field, where he'll run around and do jumping jacks to stay warm and I'll lurk in the car until the opening whistle, thankful that there is only one more weekend of soccer after this one!
