Horror movies and teenagers--they seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly. My kids are no exception to this rule.
When they get together with friends, they almost always wind up watching horror movies.
Their taste seems to run to bad horror movies, and they prefer to watch these movies at someone's home rather than at the theater. This is because they are unable to keep from loudly mocking these movies the whole time they're watching them.
From some other part of the house where I'm hiding from the grisly images depicted on the television, I'll hear them all shouting at the TV. They laugh at plot lines full of clichés, urge characters not to open the forbidden doors, and giggle at cheesy special effects. They compete for bragging rights, vying to be the one who predicts the very predictable events in the movies.
My kids are always looking for suggestions: what's the cheesiest horror movie you've ever seen?
