I swear I can't make stuff like this up.  I just don't have that good an imagination.

I was shopping online, doing a little research on the right kind of non-fluorescent light bulb that would fit in my family-room spotlight fixtures.  (You can't just put a regular bulb in there--it heats up in about 15 minutes and the bulb pops and turns off.  Poof! But I digress.)

The website I was using offered me the opportunity to see if a local brick-and-mortar store had certain bulbs in stock.  All I had to do was type my Zip code into the little box.

Zip codes have been in common use for decades now.  So I was quite surprised when I moved my cursor over to that little box and a link popped up next to it.  The link was labeled "I don't know my Zip code."

You can shop on the Internet, but you don't know your Zip code.  Doesn't make sense to me at all.
