If you're a "fancy coffee" drinker, you probably already know that it's Pumpkin Spice Latte time! 
I've heard these described as addictive, and that's definitely true. It's also true that not all Pumpkin Spice Lattes are created equal. In the name of research, I've taste-tested Pumpkin Spice Lattes from three different sources: Starbucks, Panera, and Dunkin' Donuts, as well as tried several recipes to make my own spicy coffee drink at home, during the past two weeks.
I wasn't entirely successful with the home-grown recipes, though they weren't bad. If only I could get the syrup right. I'd like to work out a good homemade alternative to the coffee-shop drink, since I can't be buying $4 coffees every day. And it would be nice to be able to have my favorite seasonal coffee no matter what season it is--once Thanksgiving is over, the pumpkin spice will be edged out by the gingerbread.
How many lattes would I have to make at home to justify the cost of an espresso machine?
