The fad started in the NFL and has now trickled down to the college players. I guess they think it looks cool.
I think it looks dangerous. I'm talking about football players with long hair that hangs out of the backs of their helmets.
Have the NFL and NCAA made rules against tackling a player by grabbing his dreadlocks and hauling him down on his back? Or would that be automatically forbidden by the Guy Code that would consider such a thing "fighting like a girl"? (There doesn't seem to be any rule against grabbing a guy by the back of the shirt, so why not this?)
At least it wasn't something I had to worry about at last weekend's Notre Dame game. They played Navy. There was no chance that any of the Midshipmen had hair long enough to pull.
