There's something about the lockers at the high school. They're like black holes: once a kid puts
something in a locker, it's questionable whether it will ever be seen again.
I thought it was just my older son's natural forgetfulness at work. His lunchbox and school ID spent more time in his locker than anywhere else. But now that his sister is at this same high school, she's experienced the same thing. Her locker's gravitational pull has extended beyond her lunchbox to her entire wardrobe of hoodies, and even her school sweater. On these early-fall days with their chilly mornings and warm afternoons, she's feeling the lack of those hoodies!
I'm left to wonder if a "Personal Management" class, like the Boy Scouts use as an Eagle-required merit badge, might be in order for all high school students. They need to find a way to keep a handle on their stuff--and to keep the locker from devouring it permanently.
