One of the most important things that my son made sure to pack when we went off to college was poster putty.
He couldn't wait to get some decorations on his wall at school--but since he didn't know the exact size of his dorm room or how much wall space would be available, he only brought a couple of posters with him.
Naturally, they're rock-music-themed, but he also managed to pay homage to his interest in pirates at the same time with a movie poster from Pirate Radio. It probably won't be long before he plasters those blank beige walls with plenty of other posters and flyers.
I saw an ad the other day for some adhesive strips made especially for posters that won't damage the poster or the wall upon removal. As soon as I find those in a store, they'll be heading his way in a care package, because I know that he's going to want to use those posters year after year. I just hope it works on cinderblock dorm walls!
