That tall yellow flower you see growing on the edge of your yard? It may be pretty, but it's pretty irritating to those of us who suffer from allergies. That yellow flower is goldenrod. 
I've been allergic to it since childhood, and every fall we'd find it growing right under my bedroom window--but nowhere else in the yard. What's up with that?
And now it's followed me 100 miles south of my childhood home, and this pesky weed has found its way to the flowerbed under my dining room window. Maybe that's why, by the end of each day, my right eye is swollen and itchy.
Unfortunately for my kids, they've inherited my allergic tendencies. They're looking for the allergy medicine and making sure I stock up on tissues every time I go to the supermarket.
Sure, fall is a lovely season with beautiful autumn flowers and colorful leaves. But if you've got allergies, you might not feel like being outside to enjoy the nice weather and lovely scenery.
