Of all the things he could have forgotten when he went to college, my son had to pick something that was much too big to fit in an envelope. 
He didn't remember to bring his pillows to the dorm.
Can you imagine the size box I'd need to ship two standard-size pillows to his school? For one thing, the box itself would weigh more than the contents!
Knowing that I'd be returning to Philly two days later for a freshman-parent conference, I wasn't too worried about the pillows. Instead, I suggested that he take his Snuggie™ and an extra bath towel and roll them up inside his empty pillowcase. This would have to do the job until I returned to school with the forgotten bedding.
He said that he'd experienced worse at Boy Scout camp, but he was glad to have those pillows two days later!
I have the feeling that on next year's move-in day, pillows will be at the top of his list.
