Mr. Third Grader's art teacher has officially earned the title of my Favorite Teacher--and I've never even met her!
There's no such thing as no-spill, no-drip art, but that's a problem when your kids wear uniforms to school and keep ruining them with paint and other art media week after week after week. And that's what was happening before this school year. If you stood outside the school at dismissal time, you could always tell which classes had gone to art class that day, because the kids' uniforms were quite colorful.
After my daughter came home from school two weeks in a row with indelible stains on her white uniform shirt, I had had enough. I emailed the art teacher asking why the kids couldn't bring an oversize T-shirt to school to use as a smock during art. Those uniforms are expensive! I never even got a reply, so I started saving those ruined uniforms and sending the kids to school in those clothes on art day.
This year we have a new art teacher, and on the first day of school she sent all the kids home with a note introducing herself and asking them to bring only two supplies to her class: a pocket folder and an old shirt to use as a smock. Yup, she's my hero--and we're keeping those uniforms clean this year!
Speaking of keeping things clean, our partner site is hosting a giveaway of the Smart Seat Chair Cover, a great way to protect your dining chairs from little (or big) spillers. Don't miss your chance to win!
