Exercise has never been a priority in my life. Whenever I went to the doctor for a physical, I'd be asked what kind of exercise I do.
"Does carrying laundry up and down three flights of stairs count?" I'd reply. (The answer was always "no.")
Well, carrying laundry is no longer working for me, and I've gotten tired of being out of shape, out of breath, and unable to zip up my favorite jeans. So I took up the challenge that was set out by some bloggers, and decided to join them in the 30-Day Shred.
It's been a slow start; I've managed to work out 8 times in the past two weeks. But that's 8 times more than I'd exercised in the two weeks before that. For that matter, it's 8 times more than I'd exercised in the two years before that.
I want to know when I'll start seeing the difference on the scale. I want to be a loser! I do feel like a winner already; the first few days I did this workout, I was unable to do jumping jacks for 30 seconds at a stretch. Now I can! And on the days I exercise, I feel more energetic. Bonus: I won't be embarrassed about my exercise record at my next medical checkup.
