Listening to my eight-year-old's conversations with his friends is always good for a laugh.  One recent day there were five children under 10 years old sprawled out on my family-room floor, making designs with Perler beads.  (It's a great activity for rainy days in the summer or anytime!)

We've got a big bucket of these beads, but the colors are all mixed up.  The kids were very nicely helping each other find the colors they needed.

"I need a white one. White goes with every color."

"So does black, for color-blind people."
